CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG was a roaring success
In 2015 Pelican took on their most ambitious project yet – the Australian premiere of the non-professional production of ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’.
Written by Ian Fleming (author of the James Bond books), this infamous musical is undoubtedly a theatrical feast – bursting with dancing, singing, imagination, fun and frivolity. A genuine 1923 Model T Ford was lovingly restored for the role of Chitty and she ‘wowed’ the audience by literally flying across the stage.
The show opened to rave reviews and enjoyed an incredibly successful season.
Reviews
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” is a fantastically imaginative show with extremely high production values and an outstanding cast. It is sure to please young and old alike. Don’t miss it

There is just so much to like about this production and, even if you don't have children to take, get yourselves some tickets anyway. There were plenty of adults in the audience on the night that I attended, all having a great time
Barry Lenny, Broadwayworld.com
When non-professional children’s theatre company, Pelican Productions bravely clutched up the amateur rights to perform Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, their reputation would either sink or swim – or, in this case, flop or fly. Pelican’s production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang soars – it is FANTASMAGORICAL!!!
