Camp questions
What’s the difference between Music Theatre Camp and Spotlight?
The main differences are age and length. Music Theatre Camp (MTC) is a two-week camp for ages 8–19, and Spotlight is a one-week camp for ages 8–16. Both are taught by the same professional tutors and finish with a fully staged show.
Do we have to audition for MTC or Spotlight?
Auditions are optional. Most performers audition because they’d like to be considered for a role in the show. If you choose not to audition, you’re still part of every group number on stage.
How do we hear about auditions?
Follow us on Facebook and Instagram and join the mailing list. Audition dates are always announced in the newsletter and on our socials.
Do camp places fill quickly?
Yes. There is often a waitlist for MTC and Spotlight, so we recommend getting in early and joining the waitlist if a camp is full.
Is it a sleepover camp?
No, our camps are day camps, not sleepovers.
What time and where do the camps run?
Juniors and Spotlight rehearse from 8.45am to 4pm at Concordia College. Seniors rehearse from 8.45am to 5pm at Fullarton Park Community Centre.
What do the camps cost?
Music Theatre Camp (4–17 January 2027) is $690 + GST and Spotlight (4–9 January 2027) is $490 + GST. Both finish with a staged show at the Michael Murray Performance Centre.
Can my child take part if they’ve never been to a Pelican class?
Absolutely. Camps are open to new and returning performers within the age range. Questions about whether a camp suits your child? Email ahoy@pelicanproductions.com.au and we’ll happily help.
How do we enrol in a camp?
Use the Book now button on this page. If you’re new to Pelican, you’ll be prompted to set up a profile in our parent/participant portal first.
